 DCS and GDAA are again proud to present the 2009 Mercury Awards.
As many of you may remember DCS was awarded the "Newcomer of the Year" award last year and we look forward to our members participating in the nominations for this year's event. So please make your voice heard and reward those who mean so much to what we do.
So what's the big deal about the Mercury Awards? Well we thought we'd inform those who maybe haven't had the opportunity to be involved or are unfamiliar. An awards ceremony named for the Roman god, Mercury who is also know as Hermes—by the Greeks. Mercury, maybe best known for his winged helmet and shoes and as being the messenger for the gods. He is attributed as the god of trades and advertising and so in this spirit we honor those advertising professionals for their commitment to excellence and the work they perform.
How does it work? - First we call for the nominations which you will be receiving via email soon.
- The deadline to nominate is Friday, April 17th
- Only GDAA & DCS members are allowed to make nominations
- Individuals nominated are not required to be GDAA or DCS members
- Nominees in each of the categories will be recognized and the nominee who receives the most votes will be awarded the prestigious Mercury Award for that category.
- The awards ceremony will be held on May 14th 2008. Stay tuned to the DCS website more details and reservation information will be available soon.
How do we nominate someone? - Visit the online ballot here to fill out and submit your nomination ballots
- You don't need to nominate someone in every category, but may do so in only the categories where you have dealings
- Only one nomination per category may be made by you. However, if you haven't voted in certain categories already, you may vote in other categories until the deadline
- The Rep of the Year winner is the person with the most total nominations across all categories
- Those nominated do not know who nominated them, unless the member gives permission. If you would like your nominees to know, please check the box on the ballot
